My Dolls’ House

the story so far .....!

This dolls house was bought as a kit from the Dolls House Emporium in the UK.  I have modified the design a little, and plan to make it a quilt shop on the ground floor, with a tea room in the conservatory.  On the first floor there’s a living room and kitchen, with a small bedroom and bathroom in the attic.

dolls house lights (26820 bytes) January 2003 - construction finally started, with help from David, my father, who was visiting from the UK and Rhys, my husband.   Between us we managed to cut new floors to accommodate the different style of staircase, internal walls, and an opening for the French window leading to the conservatory.
June 1998 - I bought the dolls’ house before we moved from the UK to Australia, but it stayed as a kit in the garage while I waited for enough time, space and money to start building it.  In those four years, I redesigned it a little in my head, bought new staircases and chose light fittings.
